Membership

Any person actively employed for six months or longer in a legal-related capacity may join ACLSA. This includes legal secretaries, paralegals, legal assistants, law office administrators, administrative assistants, typists, reporters, law clerks, persons who are employed in the court system, the trust department of banks or trust companies, the legal department of any public or private office, or any persons licensed to practice law.

Prospective members shall attend a meeting, complete the ACLSA Membership Application and send it to the Treasurer along with the initiation dues commensurate with their membership level . Applicants will be initiated at a monthly membership meeting. ACLSA does offer Student and Vendor memberships at a discount.

General membership meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at a location centrally located in the Oakland area. These are dinner meetings featuring guest speakers who present information to the membership on a variety of legal industry topics including legal procedures, court updates, law office technology, personal development, etc. which many times qualify for MCLE.
